Today is a very special day! Today, The Professor turns the big 3-0.
Let's all get really excited about this.
(Can you see how he sleeps with his eyes slightly open? THE CREEPIEST.)
In honor of this most auspicious occasion, I have hastily dug through our external hard drive and found a few cute and/or hilarious photos of him from the post-marriage but pre-blog days. Really, these need to be shared with the world.
So this one time we unexpectedly had twins. While he was a full-time physics graduate student.
This is what he looked like most of the time:
Also: Captain Science!
(I am going to use this one as his obituary photo in the paper, even if he's 102 when he dies.)
This one is random, but it has a good story: Janie, The Professor's sister, came to visit us on the same day that The Professor waged The Great Pacifier Battle of 2007 with his cranky twin sons. He singlehandedly switched them to larger, better pacifiers. If switching the pacifiers of two small, cranky, set-in-their-ways infants (who, at 3 months, had just hit the 8 pound mark) doesn't sound hard, then you know nothing. Nothing.
I think he might be acting out the day's work. I am so glad I married him.
Also: Jeans on the heads.
'Things on the Heads' seems to be a running theme in our family. Here he is with a wee Baby King Peter:
Aaand...that's what I found.
I realize that this is a truly random and crazy selection of pictures. I'm sorry, but The Professor seems to be behind the camera the most, so the pickings are slim. What I hope you gleaned from this montage is that he is a great dad and husband with a sense of humor and the uncanny ability to never age one dadgummed day.
Happy birthday to the hands-down most awesome guy whom I like to kiss the most.
Ya old geezer.
