Birthdays, Bubbles, and Babies

Before we return to our regularly scheduled blog post, let me again ask beg you to vote for me in the Vintage Revivals makeover contest.

(Why I am doing this can be found here.) To vote, go here and scroll down till you find #50, which is my entry. Click on the star to vote--you're done! You can vote once per day per IP, so if you're around several computers in one day, feel free to love on me and vote at each one. Don't forget to vote once a day through September 14th.
Only together can we banish the dragons.

(Only a few more days of me bothering you with this. Promise.)

Moving on to normal Case family stuff!

Mainly this post is a photo dump, as I've gotten a little behind on recent events. By "events" I of course mean "low key happenings," because we are not busy, event-seeking people. That makes us tired, and we all need rest. (Have I told you that H goes to bed at 6:45 every night and his siblings are asleep a half hour later? Glory.)

The most recent event we've had is C's fourth birthday party. In true Case birthday fashion, we invited over friends and family, ordered pizza, put up some streamers, and made a buttload of cupcakes. No games, no favors, no themes. Birthdays are fun and stress-free, and everyone was happy spending time together and celebrating the reign of King Peter the Boy.

Hers is a just and venerable reign indeed.

Also, in true Case birthday fashion, we opened presents inside after dark, so most of the pictures turned out blurred and silly. Here are the two that made the cut, the first featuring her youngest cousin, The Godling, pointing imperiously.

Many of the presents were unicorn or horse-themed. Natch.

These next few photos were actually taken a few days prior to the birthday party; actually, they are from the afternoon of the boys' first day of school. That afternoon The Professor took everyone outside to play with bubbles and decompress after a grueling first day of kindergarten.

In this first picture, I spy a tiny chubby hand reaching for a phone, as well a striped sister climbing up the outside of the playhouse.

The strange black star is covering a name tag.
Sorry to block Chewbacca's winsome expression.

While everyone else played with bubbles, H watched from a blanket and looked as adorable as he possibly could, which is his job right now.

Also his job: Growing a wee reddish curl right out of the top of his skull.

Seriously, it should be illegal, right?

So that's my photo dump and random catch-up. I hope you're having a beautiful, fall-feeling week like we are! Today I'm nursing a pretty terrible cold myself, but it's worth it feeling the cooler temps and knowing that very soon, all of the earwigs and crickets will be dead.

And that, my friends, is the true meaning of autumn.
