Back to Reality, Now with More Animal Facts

I'm baaaack! Yes, after nearly a two week absence, I'm here to say "hello."

So. Hello. How are you doing? You look amazing. Have you been working out?

We have been busy these last couple weeks, first with a bedroom makeover (more on that later), then with recovering from a nearly family-wide cold, with all the little,usual  time-sucking bits of humanity in between. In the middle of all of that my computer decided to go on the fritz and take a little vacation to IT. While it was at IT my computer refused to fritz, but you know, I WON'T DWELL ON THAT.

Flakey computer is back, sniffles are retreating, and the paint fumes are dwindling. I'd love to do a big reveal post on the bedroom right this moment, but there is still one niggling little project I'd like to complete before showing it off. Please have patience. I can't even give you a hint, as my camera is out of batteries and I have no idea where replacements are.

Just be assured: it looks awesome.

To pacify you, the ravening hoardes, I present to you my sweet J, haltingly explaining some fascinating animal facts recently gleaned from a cool new book:

I'm so glad I took this video, because I want to always remember how speech is sometimes in danger of disappearing altogether when his little brain possesses too many amazing facts to process in a timely manner. J is very, very into reading informative, nonfiction books and then following us around the house, informing us all about storms or sea animals or astronomy. And half of the time he's stuttering like this, unable to articulate the FABULOUS bits of information he has stored in his little brain folds. Isn't that wonderful? I just love it.

Oh, and for the record: African birds with such an astounding defense mechanism? I can neither confirm nor deny this, as his animal fact book is upstairs with a sleeping baby. I'll let you know about that one at a later date, as I'm sure you're as curious as I.
