I made Baby C two new headbands today.
What inspired these new, giddying heights of craziness were some cheap-a** headbands she spotted at Target and simply NEEDED, oh she was DYING of NEED for these GORGEOUS HEADBANDS, MINEMINEMINE.
She will be two at the end of August, folks.
Anyway, said cheap-o headbands from Target were cheap in the quality sense but expensive in the price sense. Too expensive for someone like me, whose defining quality is that tendency to scrutinize something, anything, be it a precious work of art or a piece of clothing or a kitchen gadget, and think, I could make that. So I won't buy it. Instead, I'll learn how to make it.
This defining quality is either super awesome or a completely stupid drawback, depending on how expensive the materials to make said something actually are. And how long those materials will just sit around in piles in my house, waiting to be combined into a truly unique (or maybe truly awful) creation.
Anyway anyway, this time my instincts rose to the occasion, and I combined some loose materials in my home to construct these headbands. The entire process took about 5 minutes and cost about $4 for two Captain Sassypants-worthy hair ornaments. She is quite proud of them.
And just in case you thought Baby C was always this done-up and gorgeous, I present this photo to prove that yes, of course she is, but sometimes her hair doesn't always want to obey.
As an added bonus, the series behind her head, to the right, chronicles the life of a dear fictional character, who provided the inspiration for Baby's middle name.
What a great little girl!

Very cute and very crafty of you! :)
Rae, I'm sorry, but Big Brother (aka, my husband) erased your comment because you used Baby's full name. I personally think it was a lovely comment full of kind sentiments, but he is insistent. Sorry friend!
Cutest granddaughter EVER!!!
Can't wait to see her ...
