Stephen had a wonderful birthday, in case you were wondering. On Saturday the kids and I hightailed it outta the house and attended the annual Apple and Pork Festival in Clinton, IL (I blogged about last year's visit here) while Steve stayed at home and recuperated from a nasty cold. And believe it or not, that's what he wanted for his birthday. Huh.
We celebrated Sunday with friends and family, homemade chili, and cake. The cake is really what I'm leading up to with this post. But first I have to show you the inspiration, straight from Cake Wrecks:
This is Stephen's favorite Wreck on Cake Wrecks, and I wanted to copy it in true Wreckie fashion.
I think I might have succeeded.
(We're taking the world by storm, one Cake Wreck at a time!)

October 10th is National Cake Decorating Day! Maybe you should make a wreck to celebrate the day!
Chritstine I don't know how I found your blog but I have been reading it for awhile now. I love your garage sale finds. I knew you lived in Illinois. When I saw that you went to the Apple and Pork fest last weekend I laughed. My family and I were there on Sunday. I just thought what a small world. I guess I thought you probably lived up by Chicago.
Megan,
Too bad we kindred blog spirits didn't recognize one another and chat! Seriously, though, isn't the Apple and Pork great? We go out of our way to attend every year. We did it when I was little, and it's so nice to see how little changes every year.
Thanks for leaving a comment! We Illinois folks need to stick together.
