Headband Giveaway!!

**UPDATE: Comments are closed! Winner will be posted shortly. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and shared some fun info about themselves.**

With all the new levels of crazy being reached recently in nearby corners of the internet (and if you have no idea what I'm talking about, then please consider yourself very fortunate), I think a little lighthearted, good old-fashioned giveaway is in order.

What say you?

Feast your eyes upon this!

No, no. The baby isn't up for grabs. She's too much fun to accessorize for me to give her up. The bow on her head is what's at stake. Very summer-ish, isn't it?

Here it is from the side.

I semi-handmade this sucker* (as in, I didn't crochet the headband--who has that much time?), and nothing would thrill me more than to ship it off to someone else who gets as many kicks out of little girls wearing large flowered hair accessories as I do.

If you've been around here long enough, then you'll remember Charlotte's first dabblings with big flowery headbands. (You'll also remember how excited I was when I ordered them.) She, miraculously, tolerates them, and I think I get more compliments on her cute hair bows than I actually do on my even cuter baby. Hmm.

I wonder how this would work if she were an ugly baby.

Anyway, Charlotte was more than happy to model this one for you, and it can be yours! All yours! All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment on this post with your name somewhere in that comment. Really, you can say anything. You know what? I'd really like it if you, instead of saying something banal like, "Yay! I want a headband." or "Yeah, that bow is way cuter than your baby," I'd prefer it if you tell me something special about yourself. Seriously. I want to know my readers better, so tell me a little bit about you in a couple sentences. Tell me what you're doing today, what your spouse did yesterday to tick you off, what TV shows you've been catching up on, how scary you think it is that I spank my children. Whatever. As long as you're not overtly hateful or disgusting, your fantastically you-themed comment will be entered. How does that sound?

If you're new to this blog or have been lurking around for awhile without a peep, look at this as a perfect chance to leave your first comment. Only one comment per person, please; more than one will get you disqualified. I'll shut this baby down sometime tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon or evening, so get your entry in before it's too late.

Here, Charlotte will show off the bling for you one more time.

(Anyone who says that bow is cuter than her is a dead man.)

Happy entering!!

*You should know I'm not a pro at this. I just see things I like, think "I could do that myself," and do it, no matter how half-assed the final product is. This is no where half-assed. I'd say it's pretty near full-assed, if I may. (Sorry. I love that word. I can't say it around the house, so I toss it around on the blog as much as possible.) Two disclaimers: 1) The headband is an adult size, although it measures the same as any baby/kid headband I have/saw at the store. It fits Charlotte, but there's a chance it could stretch. 2) The flower is on a clippie, so you can take that off, mix and match, whatever. I didn't have a matching grosgrain ribbon to cover the clippie with, and Hobby Lobby is way on the other side of town, so it's just the flower stuck on the bare silver clip. Really, it's not a big deal. The flower is huge and camouflages the clip just fine.

Okay, enough disclaiming. Carry on.

Oh, oh! And if you're reading this on Facebook, then I'll have to ask that you actually come to the blog itself (www.keepingupwiththecases.com) to comment and enter. Thanks.

Hmmmm...something personal to help you get to know me better. This will be my fourth anniversary coming in September (three months from today actually) and as of this coming september, I will have spent three out of four anniversaries pregnant! I think my in-laws think we're crazy.

Ok. The headband rocks! Your daugther is fabulously adorable!

Honestly...just found your blog. Excited to check it out more! Kinda rude that I'm signing up for contest...but you said that was cool! I still hope I win. ;o)

What am I doing...going to change a poopy diaper and then pick up my daugther for preschool. Aren't you glad you asked?? :) Have a great day!

Hi, Christine! It's been a long time since we worked together in the English department at good ol' ONU. I enjoy reading your blog.

I have a former coworker who is 3 weeks away from delivering a precious baby girl, so this would be a perfect gift for her.

Hmmm...now for something about me. I'm married to a Scotsman whom I met on a trip to Scotland. I promise I didn't marry him just for the accent, but it's a bonus!

I Charlotte sitting on one of your old/new wicker chairs? I may have to drive by your house to check them out! Stephen won't think we're stalking him while you're gone will he? =) Have a fun trip with your mom!

Rachel: Yes, that's one of the chairs! Drive by. Steve doesn't pay attention, so he'll never know if you're stalking him. And don't worry, you're still good for the contest, even with two "entries." :)

Carry on, people!

Second visit to your blog, yesterday was the first. And already I get to enter a contest! Woot woot!

About me in a couple of sentences?

Sentence one:
I'm a wife to a truck driver and mama to two little girls, we LIVE in said truck (a Peterbilt) and drive around the Pacific Northwest five days a week, home for two.

Sentence two:
I'm massively, ridiculously, addicted to coffee, FB, blogging and twitter.

Was there a disclaimer about how the sentences couldn't be run on? Hoping not. =)

HI! I just stumbled on your blog from Raechel's. I found hers through the Arpil Rose ordeal that I found as like the 300 hit on the blog. I too am having a blog give-away to try and stray away from the chaos. Nice to meet you and your neck of the blog world:)
I married my junior high school sweetheart. Both of our names were the #1 baby names in I believe 1997 and thus I have a newspaper article with our names as the headline...I think that is pretty cool. I have 2 kids and yes, I too do not spare the rod. Hey, I turned out fine:)
My #2 is a little girl and I LOVE headbands and clippies for her...especially homemade ones! She has blue eyes and this one would be beautiful for her!

Let's see... I think the baby's cuter than the headband. Just for the record. :)

I went to the OB today and heard our baby's heart beat. Nothing can warm a momma's heart more than that.

Here's to hoping its a girl that can wear that beautiful headband. :) (Or, I can find someone who can.)

I found Stellan a few weeks ago and am branching out to other blogs, just finished reading many of R's posts and feeling heavy-hearted for her losses, in awe at the way our Lord sustains through trials, incredibly blessed to have my 5 month old daughter, and thankful beyond measure that there is ONE who holds the past, present, and future in His hands.

I wonder if I can get my daughter Emilee to wear this (no, probably not - she's 23!). However, I do know some cute babies that I could share this with!
Charlotte is a doll!

Hi! I just love the headband! I am actually entering on behalf of a family in need. I'm Elizabeth from Pass it On, Baby!(www.passitonbaby.blogspot.com) and we link mommas who need children's clothes with mommas who have gently used clothes to donate. If I win, I'll be sending this headband to one of our darling moms who I'm sure would love to see her gorgeous little girl all dolled up like your Charlotte. Nice to "meet" you! LOL! Check us out sometime! =)I really like your blog so rest assured, I'll be back! *wink*

I love the headband, but must concur that Charlotte is more adoreable than the headband...

So about me... I'm a God-lovin, married woman of almost 13 years with 2 girls that are adopted. I've had 1 miscarriage and that was the only time I was pregnant. I still want more kids and am waiting on God to reveal HOW that will happen.

I love life and am very blessed to have such a wonderful husband, my 2 girls and my family.

Loved the blog about the chairs. You are very crafty!!

I'm not entering the contest since I would just give it to Baby Charlotte anyway. Just wanted to pass on that I could have sworn the title of this particular contest was "husband" giveaway. I wondered what awful thing Stephen had done. Don't worry...I'm picking up my new glasses this afternoon. This could also be a result of my poor eyesight, but are you sure that's Baylor on the left side when you identify your family? It looks an awful lot like Jack-Jack.

Love y'all,
Gamma

Lovin' the headband!

About me: You and I first met my freshman year at Olivet in the English dept. Hooray for grammar/literature nerds!

Fun fact #1 - Your sister, mom, and dad (at least I think it's them - I recognize them from the pictures on here) were in the fitness center the other day and they are just about the cutest family ever.

Fun Fact #2 - Since I have no children and do not forsee having children anytime soon, if I win the headband, I promise I will make my husband wear it and post pictures on my blog.
