Raechel implemented Way Back Whensday a few weeks ago (check out this one from last week if you're interested in seeing the two of us squeezing into tight spaces whilst sporting some of my more daring print pants), and since I've failed to participate lately, I thought I'd comb the archives and jump on the bandwagon this week.
Here's the problem: the archives are limited.
I only have so many pictures from "way back when" in digital format, and we don't have a scanner. Nor do my folks. And all my pictures from my childhood are packed away in boxes in my mother's basement, since they moved a few months ago and haven't gotten to the albums yet.
So you see my dilemma. I am left desperately searching the picture folders on the Mac, trying to come up with a few that might follow a cohesive theme, and all I can find are unrelated images that tell no story whatsoever.
Thus, the randomness. Here we go.
Here is a shot of our college Homegroup from 2004.
Nearly every Sunday night of college, for all
four years (well, I wasn't a founding member),
we met for Bible study at Adam's house.
I don't know what we're doing here.
Clearly it was a white elephant Christmas gift exchange.
Clearly we were high on Jesus.
Another college shot: Stephen and I being
all cute and young at the 2004 Christmas Banquet
for our college.
And since Rae included a pic of the 2001 Christmas Banquet
(complete with my Barbara Bush-inspired outfit)
a couple weeks ago, here she and Ryan are
with Lee and Amanda from the CB 2004.
(Rae, I didn't even know I had this shot.
Are you wearing one of your bridesmaid dresses?)
This is the car Stephen had when I fell in love with him.
(I told you this was random.)
We sold it two years ago so we could buy a minivan.
Talk about growing up.
And this is the man with whom I fell in love.
Seriously. He's a scientist.
Sometimes he has to wear the universal scientist uniform.
(P.S.: If you lived with me during my freshman year of college,
then you'll remember the special dance I created to
accompany these rockin' safety goggles.)
(Let's just say it was a cross between M.C. Hammer
and skiing down a mountainside.)
(Oh, and Filly? Thanks so much for this picture.
It's excellent blackmail fodder.)

I love your hair in that Christmas Banquet folder! Seriously!
And, yes, I'm wearing a bridesmaid dress. But, not one from my wedding, it is the one I wore in my sister's wedding. Hey, when you pay that much for a dress, you have to get your money's worth!
Oh, and thanks for linking up!! :)
And, in case you're wondering, I totally meant to say "Christmas Banquet folder"!
Except not really. I'm a sneezing, drainy, snotty mess right now, so thinking straight is not my strong point.
AHHH CHOOOO! *wipe*
Wow. Those were the days.
Has anyone ever told you you look like Alice from the Twilight movie? Just wondering :).
Sigh, we are turning in our pretty Accord today for a minivan. :( I don't want to grow up!
And we had similar white elephant experiences in college. ;) I ended up with a bunk bed ladder - talk about random!
you made up a special dance? When I went to Olivet back in the 80s that would have been a major no-no! do they still fine students for dancing? ahhh, those were the days.
enjoy your blog!
