Snow Day

We're in Michigan (if you do the "I'm a Native Michigander" thing and hold up your right hand to represent the state, we're somewhere to the right of the center of your palm.) and lots and lots of snow is continuing to accumulate outside, piling on top of the ten inches that fell on Friday. Steve says there is at least a foot outside--I say much more, considering when we took the boys out earlier, they had a great deal of trouble even lifting their feet out of the snow.

And guess what! It continues to fall! With no end in sight!

White Christmas, here we come!

This was the boys' first official "romp" (I use that term loosely) in the snow, as they have been pretty consistently sick since it first started falling at home and have only been able to gaze at it from the warmth of the house. We stayed outside with them for just a few minutes, but it was enough to earn lots of giggles while outside and lots of tears when we finally dragged them indoors. Jack actually made a break for it when Stephen was ushering him inside, just so he could earn a few more precious minutes in the bitter cold white stuff. Cute.

Jack, all bundled up and, at this point,
very confused about what we are doing.

Baylor

I have Bay and Steve has Jack.
Like my get-up?
My KGB coat just doesn't cut it for snow,
and my new leather gloves are equally unsuited.

He was waving with his flipper hand.

I am proud to announce that they are now delighted by mittens and not terrified of them. This is an important development. However, Jack is now frozen with fear by his snow boots.

One step forward, two steps back.

I will close with a quick sick update. As I stated in my latest Not Me! Monday post, we have successfully sickened my mother, my mother-in-law, and my sister-in-law, and now my husband's grandfather has (possibly) succumbed to a milder version of the same bug. Not only do we feel terrible at having infected so many people, but also the annual big one-side-of-the-family gathering scheduled for Christmas Eve has been cancelled due to the virus. It was going to be held here, at my in-laws', and obviously we are still contagious, something that we aren't eager to share with 60+ family members during the Christmas season.

So that feels great. Sorry, fam.

Merry Christmas, please pass the puke bucket.

the boys look so cute in their snow gear and look like they had sooo much fun!

I'm not at all jealous of your snow though! I actually went out without a coat today here in KS. It is cold, but not that bad...

I love these! The boys' winter coats are so great! Oliver may never have a winter coat of that caliber - it would just be too hot. But, they're awesome, nonetheless.

Also, I like your cute black hat. :)

Merry Christine!
