I wanted to share something that is very near and dear to me: my quirky pink milk mug.
This unassuming little mug belonged to my Grammy for I-don't-know-how-long, and for some reason, I grew fixated on it as a child. She gave it to me a few years ago when it became clear my fascination was never going to die--I'm sure I asked her point-blank if I could have it after she died. As a kid, I had to use it as often as possible whenever we visited her and Papa, but I never allowed myself to drink anything out of it but milk, barring the rare emergency shortage of mugs. The little white drippy marks on the sides obviously mark it as a mug for milk only. (Recently my dad innocently poured me a cup of coffee in this mug. I was horrified. It was so close to the desecration of something holy that I had to pour the coffee into another mug when he wasn't looking.) You see, there is a reason you would want an opaque liquid in this particular cup. A surprise lurks at the bottom...
The milk slowly disappears as it accompanies
peanut butter blossoms and catch-up episodes of "The Office."
Oh my goodness! What is that?!
Did Steve do a half-a**ed job at dishwashing again??
Eeek!! I need to drain the mug to satisfy my curiosity.
This is not a disgusting thing, I assure you.
One does not waste the precious nectar that is milk.
Oh, how funny and cute and not disgusting!
A tiny porcelain frog.
How divine.
And that, my friends, is the secret of the pink milk mug. I can only hope you have experienced half of the joy that I do each and every time I perform this curious ritual.
Honestly, I'm not exaggerating. I manage to find delight in it over and over again. Some would call this childlike innocence.
Or simplemindedness. Whatever.

I love your frog mug! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Oh, and let me reassure you that I will not neglect my "Not Me Monday" agreement today. :)
Hi! I found your blog as I was browsing through MckMama's MckFriend list on Blog Frog (and am trying to comment and not lurking around when I find a blog I like)...so when I saw this post just I had to comment! It brought back forgotten memories as a child using a similar mug at my grandma's house that had a little teddy bear at the bottom and I LOVED that mug!!! I am going to have to go ask her if she still has it! :) Have a great day!
Melissa
I'm so glad my surprise-in-the-bottom mug isn't the only one out there!
