Charlotte's baby bling arrived in the mail today...
Rockin' the leg warmers...
I am delighted with the headbands and will share pictures of the red one once she wears it. I am making myself stretch out the joy. The boys are quite taken with the hat, too. I think she looks like an adorable little potted plant.
And I wanted to share some pictures from our Advent activity yesterday.
OK, so you see all the little colored pom-poms scattered on the floor there underneath Mr. Baylor? Well, that's what happens when you try to do an art project that isn't age-appropriate (as in, too advanced) with two boys under the age of 2. I had gotten these cheap foam hats and some pom-poms, thinking we could glue them to the hats and have oh so much fun. Don't think I'm a total idiot--while I was in Hobby Lobby I realized that, of course, the whole glue aspect was going to be a problem, but I was too cheap to buy the pom-poms or googly eyes that had the stickers on the back.
Entirely too cheap. This is often a problem.
It was a problem yesterday, when the boys decided they would rather a) eat the glue, b) eat the pom-poms, c) dip the pom-poms in glue and then eat them, or d) just throw the pom-poms around and laugh boisterously at the brilliance of such an art project.
Oh, glue is a marvelous condiment, to be sure.
So the hats ended up just gluey, with no pom-poms, because even after they were done at the table and I tried to complete the project for them myself, I realized that the pom-poms were entirely too heavy to stay on with simple Elmer's glue. Thus we had sticky, shiny hats with no decoration. And you know what? We still had fun. The boys thought that the pom-poms were so great that they each took one with them to Wal-Mart and shared the joy with the other shoppers.
We're just doing our part to spread the love of the Season. Just doing our part.
(Because obviously nothing says "Merry Christmas, God loves you!" like two little boys running around Wal-Mart with fuzzy craft pom-poms wedged in their gums like chewing tobacco.)

LOVE Miss Charlotte's hat. If only we could all get away with wearing such vibrant accessories. =)
You haven't lived until you've tasted glue! Welcome the boys to the club for me.
I will post a picture maybe tomorrow of Alaina wearing a similar hat to Charlotte...her flower isn't quite as large and her hat is red...I love them!!! We have a children's boutique her in downtown Valpo that sells them and about a bazillion other little girl clothes that I have to restrain myself from buying...I can hardly resist the Christmas tutu they have hanging in the store window!!! I love our baby girls! Can't wait until they can get together to play!
Ryan, do you remember when Jack ate paint last winter? Really, it's scary to think of what all they've ingested.
