Really, it's been a disgusting morning. Think I'm kidding?
Cassidy (our stupid dog) threw up in Baylor's crib this morning, all over his bedding and blankets, while he was still in it. Not knowing that this was the reason he was whining up in his crib (they whine and complain about anything these days, I promise, we aren't bad parents), we left him up there to stew in the icky mess for a few minutes while we enjoyed a little solitude and a little breakfast. Poor guy. Too bad he can't articulate his thoughts yet, or else we might have caught on just a tad sooner.
As our brother-in-law put it, it must have been a "dog to human transfer," because not long after the boys experienced their own stomach bugs. We should have known this might happen, as they were already having diarrhea. (Sorry.) Baylor threw up on the dining room carpet, but not soon enough for us to watch for warning signs, because almost immediately afterward Jack wandered into the kitchen and thew up all over himself, the lineoleum, and his father, who was crouching at Jack's level while carrying the baby in her front-facing harness. So nearly everyone in the household was covered in vomit (luckily the baby was spared) and crying.
Wow.
Thankfully we were at home, where it's easy to clean things. Thankfully I had enough cleaning solution left in my SpotBot to get out the stains on the rug. Thankfully Stephen was with me--oh, I shudder to think what it would have been like if I had been by myself. Thankfully they seem happy and feeling much better after the pukefest. Thankfully the baby has yet to show signs of sickness, although I am keeping a very close eye on her. Thankfully I do not have a weak stomach myself, or this could have been a lot worse.
Yes, we have much to be thankful for, despite the pungent aroma of sick wafting throughout our house.
And so I hope I haven't sickened anyone with my slightly gross post. (I do assure you that I have edited for content a lot--A LOT.) This was a morning that couldn't be kept quiet.
And just for the record, if our dog happens to wander away, we won't be at all saddened.

oh. I am so. so. sorry. (but glad with you that you weren't alone!)
SO sad!! I'm glad Charlotte hasn't been throwing up, although I can't blame Baylor and Jack for puking everywhere. If a dog vomited in my bed, I'd have been puking almost immediately.
And it's good that you don't have a weak stomach. My mom says once I become a mom, I'll become immune to barfing episodes and the like, but for right now, I can't stand it. Diapers are a little better than puke. Also, I never consider baby spit-up "puke." So, I can handle that as well.
Too much information? Ah, well. Guess it's the day for that. :D Thanks for your comment on my post. I'm hoping to come up with more stuff to add soon!
Well feel glad that you don't have a weak stomach. I did before kids and I still do after kid. I think it was Parker that threw up all over the floor one day and I told Jon that I couldnt handle it so I went and locked myself in our room until he cleaned it up! I know that wasn't the nicest thing in the world to do to my husband but I figured his stomach wasn't as weak as mine. Boy was I wrong! that night we both sick. Luckily that doesn't happen too often.
I am glad that they are feeling better and I am looking forward to seeing all of you soon.
