We are so fortunate to have both sets of our kids' grandparents close to us; my parents live across town and Stephen's parents live just five hours away. We are doubly blessed that both my parents and his parents genuinely love and care for us and actually enjoy spending time with the five Cases. The Grandparents Case make a point of seeing us (okay, okay, who am I kidding--it's all about the grandkids!) at least once a month, and this past weekend they came in for their November visit. We enjoyed lazing about the house as a family and keeping out of the cold, suddenly-so-November weather outside. Saturday night Grandma and Grandpa sponsored Daddy and Mama Date Night and actually seemed thrilled at the prospect of caring for all three of their grandkids for the evening. Stephen and I escaped the house to gorge on Jimmy John's veggie sandwiches and Oberweis ice cream, followed by shopping at Barnes and Noble, something I don't think we have done since college. We came home happy and refreshed, with my in-laws happy and exhausted and ready for bed as soon as we returned. (Who can blame them, really?) We all had a great time together and are excited for Christmas, when we will travel north to visit with them and Stephen's sister and her husband for an extended Christmas. I should also mention that the kids got doting-relative overload today, as this evening my mom, sister, and brother-in-law came to hang out, eat, and play with the kids, using the excuse that they were having "baby withdrawal." Aren't we so spoiled?

Every day I think I am going to kiss her face off.
Oh, Jack!
Doing something serious...
Observing from afar.
