Stephen and Strickler in the new Olivetian

To all my fellow Olivetians out there: Did you see Stephen in the newest edition (Summer 2008) of The Olivetian? See him here, on page 12, in a feature on the new renovations around campus. Cool picture, huh? That picture actually reminds me that that particular shirt is out of commission, as Jack pulled off one of its buttons and I have yet to find time to sew said button back on. Oops.

Anyway, if you are planning on coming to Olivet's Homecoming in a few short weeks, you should definitely try and make it to one of the planetarium shows. They are running all weekend, and I know Steve is going to make an effort to be present at a few of them, instead of just letting student workers run the show. It's a nice way of seeing just how tuition and alumni gifts are being used to better the campus and the college's educational offerings.

And if you are coming in from out-of-town for Homecoming, let us know if you need a place to stay. We have many interesting places we are willing to fit our more adventurous friends... plus my folks live in a beautiful old home with both a guest room (complete with queen-sized bed) and a comfy futon. Double-plus, my dad has a new 40-something inch flat-screen HD television.

The amenities here in Kankakee can't be beat!

Funny thing about that shirt:
Back when X-men came out in theaters, a bunch of us went to see it dressed up as different characters. I was Magneto, and that is the shirt I wore. I also wore a purple towel cape. And a styrofoam Magneto mask.

Good times.

Steve would like to interject here that he was not able to go see X-Men with you guys that weekend because my parents were visiting at ONU and he was meeting them for the first time. I believe I denote some bitterness in his tone.

I totally saw Steve in the Olivetian yesterday. I'm so cool because I know him! Go Steve! Go Strickler!
